The company is a manufacturer of horizontal shrink wrapping equipment and carton and bag closing equipment. The company wanted its engineering division to become a more efficient and productive component within its business. The company also wanted to focus on standard product development vs. custom development and to maintain a competitive edge through its engineering capacity and expertise.
We assessed the engineering functions and activities to identify objectives and strategies linking engineering to operational realities, determined goals, critical success factors and key performance measures for each process through interviews and facilitated sessions. We analyzed engineering process methodology and documented organization, systems and measures. We identified customer perceptions through customer interviews and designed a new engineering process for the company.
